Learn Dutch for beginners
(even if you don’t know where to start)

You want to learn Dutch… but it feels overwhelming.
Where do you even begin? Grammar? Speaking? Apps?

Don’t worry, you don’t need to be perfect to start speaking Dutch.

It’s completely normal to feel, especially in the beginning, that you’re not capable of understanding or speaking this “difficult” language, and to feel a bit insecure. But you don’t need to have everything figured out. All you need is a bit of confidence to get started and that’s exactly what I’ll help you build in my lessons.

We start simple, with basic questions and answers. Step by step, we expand your vocabulary and introduce grammar in a natural way, so you can build your skills gradually and feel more confident with each lesson. We also set small, achievable goals, so you can clearly see your progress.

How to learn Dutch as a beginner?
The most important thing is to focus on speaking from the beginning and also trying this from day one in real life. Take little steps everyday and make sure you keep on trying, make a mistake and then try again!

Is Dutch hard to learn?

Dutch isn’t the easiest language to learn, but it’s far from the hardest. If you already speak English, you have a big advantage and with the right guidance, you’ll make progress faster than you expect.

How long does it take to learn Dutch?

It’s not about how fast you learn, but how consistently you show up. How long it takes to learn Dutch depends also on your starting point and goals.

Many learners can hold basic conversations within 3–6 months, and reach a comfortable level in 6–12 months with regular practice.
